AI image generation is often discussed as if every platform does the same job. It does not. Some are excellent for finding a visual world. Some are built for controlled iteration. Others become useful only after a creative team has a strong process around them.

START WITH THE JOB, NOT THE DEMO

Before choosing a platform, decide what the image needs to do. Moodboarding can tolerate interpretation. Ecommerce imagery cannot. A campaign concept may benefit from surprise; a product page needs accuracy.

THE SHORT VERSIONUse Midjourney for aesthetic exploration. Use FLORA when the workflow needs repeatable control. Use Runway when the idea needs to move.

01. MIDJOURNEY FOR THE VISUAL WORLD

Midjourney remains the strongest first stop when the team needs to establish atmosphere, casting direction, composition, color, or the broad language of a campaign. Treat the output as concept material, not evidence that a garment can be reproduced exactly.

Controlled iteration matters once the visual direction has been chosen.

02. FLORA FOR THE SYSTEM

FLORA becomes interesting when one image is not enough. Its node-based approach is better suited to connected explorations, repeatable prompts, and creative systems that a team may want to revisit.

03. RUNWAY FOR MOTION

Runway is the most relevant next step when a still needs to become campaign motion, social content, or a fast previsualization of an edit. The creative opportunity is camera behavior and timing, not simply making an image wiggle.

The team with a defined visual standard will get more from one platform than the team trialing six without a clear brief.
